Hello All!
My name is Tony, and I am the proud to welcome our newest family member: Zeus.
Zeus is a sweet 2 year old faun English Mastiff, who lived with my step-son, until a divorce forced a change in living situations.
My wife and I gladly adopted Zeus, and he has adapted nicely to his new surroundings.
Our 5 yr old German Shepherd, Ripley, seems glad to have a big-little brother, and they enjoy romping in our fenced yard.
Zeus is quite the 'daddy's boy', and is always by my side.
As for myself, I am a (for lack of better description) mad scientist, specializing in special effects. I enjoy skydiving, motorcycles, airshows, music, and Kilted Celtic events.
After just a cursory look at the forum, I can see this is the place to be, to gain insight & info for our Mastiff.

Hello , my name is Stephane, i bought a beautiful male mastiff for my girlfriend back in the summer of 2006 from Patti Groppetti. He is just a wonderful bundle of joy and everyday he brings something new to the table. He is just so smart, and easy going. Our "baby" is turning 2yrs old in august but he still hasn't stopped growing. He now weights about 280lbs and his neck is around 36 inches. We have never shown him, but plan to in the near future. How would i go about showing him here in canada? he is akc registered and would love for him to get his championships so we can breed him. Thank you

Hello to all!
My name is Kimberly. I am a professional pet portrait artist and horse show groom. I lost my 12 year old fawn mastiff Caolainn on 3/6/08. She was my best friend and was my first mastiff! I just could not stand living without another mastiff so on 3/26/08 I found my little Ruby Cascade! A 4 month old brindle sweet heart. I am very lucky as she is just so loving and smart. Ruby has been perfect so far and I just am thrilled to have a puppy again. Thank you to all for the great advice on this Board!

Hello everyone! My name is Nikki. I live (currently) in Daytona Beach, FL. I am soon moving to a new house in Palm Coast with a large backyard and I'm super excited about that!
So I've been lurking about for quite some time and reading up and talking to a few of the fine breeders on this site all in my quest to know as much as possible before I get my mastiff. I was talking to a couple of folks about current litters but I think I've decided to adopt instead. I ran into someone who works with a rescue and they have a matiff who is going to give birth to a litter in July. Which works out perfectly for me because by the time they are ready to go to their new home, I'll be living in the new house! The pup won't have to deal with a move! Yay!
Anywho, I've always had dogs in my life. My parents had Mini-schnauzers growing up. I always like bigger dogs. When I was old enough to get a dog of my own I rescued a lab/border collie mix. And then a lab/pit mix. Then my dad got me a labrador retriever and then lastly, I rescued a border collie/aussie shep. So up until about 2 months ago, I had 4 dogs. Then came the hard decision to leave my husband. He kept all 4 dogs. I just couldn't split them up. I miss them dearly but they are happy and healthy and not stressed out anymore due to our fighting so I'm happy for them. In a couple of months, I feel I'll be settled enough to bring a new baby into my life for me to love on. I hate not coming home to a 4 legged critter. I've always wanted a mastiff so I decided that what better time than now? I've done lots of research but I've also learned that there's a lot you can't know until you experience it first hand. I hope to share my journey with you guys! And hopefully get great answers to the many questions I'm sure that will pop up in addition to the ones that I already have!

Hello,
I'm David Collinson and I am a mastiff-oholic!
My wife Alison and I have had mastiffs continuously for 26 years.
We have been quite active in the past, but for several reasons (including getting two sons to the fringes of adulthood), we have not shown in the last few years.
We judge at championship shows and breed occasionally under the affix Massoluv.
Currently we have three 7 year old mastiffs of our own breeding and a 12 week old puppy bitch. Her great great granddam was the the result of the mating of one of our stud dogs and the litter sister of another one, who was the sire of our older mastiffs. (To make things even more complicated, their dam was the get of the first stud dog-it's an incestuous world in the dog fancy.) Anyway, should the puppy turn out as nice as we think, we hope to show her.
I will be making comments from time to time on threads that interest me. Just to give you a sense of my style, I will say that although we now live on 2+ acres next to a National Nature Reserve in deepest Shropshire, we once lived in a basement flat on the outskirts of Philadelphia with two mastiffs, two other dogs and a cat. With proper exercise, mastiffs do not need wide open spaces and city streets are better for their feet than country dirt!

Hi,
My name is Kim Fish. My friends (Webb and Marge) encouraged me to join this website and so far it's been very rewarding! I'm learning a lot by visiting previous topics and have gotten a lot of response on a thread that I created for a cookbook that's under construction for the mastiff breed. http://www.mastiffpicnic.com if anyone want to join in the fun!
Anyways, my husband and I are owned by two wonderful brindle boys. Boulder will be 7 years old soon and Buck is 2 & 1/2 years. Both are our pride and joy! We show our mastiffs and help pull mastiffs in need from our local pound and private owners. We are also involved in a fundraising event each year to raise money for mastiff research and rescue. Drool is cool!

Hello everyone,
First off the details: I'm a potential mastiff owner, doing all that I can to research this breed as best as possible to determine if a Mastiff is right for me. I have always loved the look of the Mastiff and I have done some research and like the temperment and attitude (from what I have read).
I plan on buying from a breeder and having the dog neutored (I still haven't decided on gender).
I live in Orange County, CA (Anheim to be exact)
I have a big backyard for Southern California (approx 8,000 sq ft.)
I have a family: Wife, 2 boys (ages 2 and 5) , and my mom lives with us
My mom is stay at home daycare so the Mastiff pup will be part of the family all day long.
My house is set up as such that I have an RV parking space next to my house which I plan on converting into a dog run.
My eldest son (5 years old) was dignosed with high0functioning Autism at the age of 2. He attends school and has 5 sessions of therapy throughout the week. Although he ia Autistic and has the characteristics he is extremely loveable and smart. He lacks speech and will flail when he gets excited. I bring this up because whatever breed we decide on has to be calm and understanding enough to live with a chlid who is Autistic. I've read a little on pet therapy and I think a dog would be a great addition to my family as well as a great thing to have in my son's life.
I grew up with dogs and some of my most cherished memories are of them in my childhood.
I joined this board looking for any advice and hoping to run into some other Southern Californians who are involved in reputable breeding. I would love to take my family to some local breeders and have my children interact with some Mastiffs to see how they would react.
I really want to make sure that I'm making the best decision for a breed and my family.
If anyone has any children with special needs and a Mastiff I would love to hear any feedback (do's and don'ts) that you might have.
I would alos love to get any advice on if I should get a Male or female Mastiff... is one more nurturing than the other? With males would I have to worry about dominance issues? If I plan on buying a second Mastiff pup down the road is it better to start with a female or male?
Again thank you in advance for any help you can provide. If I don;t get many responses here I will post my questions in the general forum to solicit some replys.

Hello Everyone,
My name is Sandra. I'm 33-years young  and live in the Netherlands,
with my husband and our 3 dogs.
I have always trained with our dogs and give puppy-classes at our local dogtrainingscentre.
The love for dogs goes far, all my spare time I'm busy with our dogs,
isn't it cuddling or walking the dogs, than I'm busy learning about pedigrees,
health, dogbehavior etc.
We got our first dog about 11 years ago.
We got ourselves an American Staffordshire Terrier (male-Murphy) and
after about 1,5 year we got our second Am. Staff (male-Bink).
I've always trained them and they are really very social and well-raised dogs.
We've always loved dogs in general, but really fell in love with the Mastiff-breed
for about 5-6 years ago.
So besides our 2 Am. Staffs, we now own a really lovely Mastiff-lady,
her name is: Perra Amiga van den Duncanhof.
We call her Amiga.
She's Dutch Champion and got the title "Bundessiegerin" in 2007 in Germany
and so her qualification for the Crufts 2009.
I hope to enjoy this Message-board and off course hope to learn more too.

Hello everyone my names carl, im the proud owner of "gert" he is 11 weeks old, i got him a week ago.
Ive also got a 6 yr old boy boxer "freak" that didnt know what to make of gert to start with but after a couple of days they are the best of mates, freak had a girlfrend boxer up until xmas when she passed away, he has been a bit grim since but now he has a whole new lease of life I would even say a smile on his face!.
Gert has settled in so well in the first week got his nose into everything, aswell as his teeth!. Nothing seems to faze him so far (apart from a paw on the head from the cat) he is a great little pup.
I will keep you posted as he grows.
My pics are too big to upload i will try again tomorrow.

Hi Everyone!
I'm new to the site as well as new to being an English Mastiff Mommy. I have two mastiff babies; Monty (Brindle) and Ava (Fawn). They are both 17 weeks old and are brother and sister. Monty weighed in 53lbs on Thursday and Ava currently weighs 42lbs, shes our little peanut.
We were looking for a large dog that is very gentle and easy going as we have two children; daughter is 2 and son is 4. So we contacted a breeder who had been breeding for 30 years and asked to come see them at her farm. It was like love at first site, even with the large ones she had, she had about 10 of them there lol. Needless to say my high lite was getting mauled by 6 full grown mastiffs  They were so gentle with my children and that is when I knew they were a perfect fit for our family.
We have had these babies for 2 months now and loving every second of it!
I hope to learn more about this breed and advice when needed from all of you, I have seen so many pictures while searching through these forums and every one of you have such beautiful babies!

He's my Teddy mastiff who makes more sounds in his sleep than ten men.
I'm very proud of him and never seen a dog so sweet and yentle to kids.

Hi all of you! Thank you for making a newbie feel so welcome...I have two girls---Tosca and Nikita---almost 9 and 7 mos. respectively...and am having a ball being owned by them...we are just a happy full-time family with two children and then the "girls" as they are called...Tosca is from the Warleggen and Iron Hills lineage so her bones are big and straight and strong. At 33" I can only imagine what a male from that litter would have turned out...and "little" Nikita is a true miracle.
We had been interviewing (literally) to be a Mastiff Rescue family but had been temporarily turned down b/c of our little 4 year old Daughter Ava being so small--she was 2 at the time...
We became friends with lots of breeders and handlers in Ohio to let them know that we were looking for a mastiff rescue that was a puppy so we could help protect one pup that fit the requirements of the rescue guidelines.
But after 2 years we were sure that we would never find the one who needed us---we let our wishes be known on line and within an hour, I got a call from Dr. Karin out in MO at Ten bears.
Our Nikita came home to a forever family never knowing that her 20 brothers and sisters from two litters had almost 9 potential show dogs and if her eyes hadn't faulted her she would have made number 10.
That small fault which is all but gone has given us a gorgeous black brindle that at 7 months is well over 100 pounds already. But we don't care about anything except that she is ours!!!

Hi I'm Nikki and our baby Gretchen (even though she is almost 3 yrs old) is a brindle mastiff/cane corso mix. We rescued her from a backyard breeder and sad to say every other pup in her litter died. When we took her home she was only 6 weeks and was out in a shed in the cold of the fall weather with no fresh water or food. Might I add there wasnt much light, so we knew we had to save one pup. She had worms for the first 2 months of her life. Well she is full grown and is the biggest mush.
This forum looks like a great place to be a part of.. I am glad I stumbled upon it.

It's summer in Kansas City and it's getting a little hot for Frank and his smaller older brother Edgir. I'm thinking of getting them a kiddy pool to splash in in the back yard. Good idea? Bad idea? Really stupid, idiotic concept that any rational person would avoid at all costs?

Frank's current method of cooling off when he comes in from playing is to hog the AC by laying on the vent. Fortunately there are other vents and Frank seldom affects a perfect seal.Attached Images:

Hello- my name is Trisha Mumford. I live in South Texas (San Antonio/Austin area) and I own 6 mastiffs. Bear, Rosey, Stormy, Reese, Cash and Gunner. 3 Brindles and 3 Fawns. 3 Boys and 3 Girls.....lol
My husband has owned Mastiffs since 1983. He has had a few litters over the years. We married about 5 years ago and I have been involved with the breed since. I have been to several shows and visited numerous kennels. Bucks/Trenton has been my favorite shows thus far, and I WILL be attending annually. Nice dogs and Great people! Being new to this breed the best information I can offer anyone is....get out there and see the dogs! It puts a whole new perspective on things. Besides, you don't really know what you want....until you put your hands on it!

Hello everyone, my name is Chris, and I live in North Carolina. I havel always loved Mastiffs, though I currently dont own one. I have a wife, 3 boys, and 2 chocolate labs, but I think there is still room for 1 more...a Mastiff.

Hello my name is Heather. My husband and I got our first Mastiff in March. She is a beautiful brindle girl. She was born January 27th and now weighs 72 pounds. She is very strong, yet gentle, and thinks she is a lap dog. Her name is Her Majesty's Holliday aka Maggie. Any suggestions as to what to feed her are welcome. I'd really like to find something that would make her ummm "gas" not so ominous.

11week old puppies too.
How old are pups when they can go to an other family?
Here in the nethherlands breeders try to put them in new homes as soon as they are 8weeks.

Hello my name is Kelly and I have an 8month old english mastiff named Mercecdes. I have lots of ? this is the first time owning a mastiff and we sure did get the pick of the litter...NOT! I am so happy to find this forum! Bear with me everyone because I am having issues with her and need help!!!
